Copac currently contains the catalogues of the RLUK member libraries plus an increasing range of special libraries, other specialist databases and collections.
We are in the process of establishing new catalogue additions for 2017 and will include details here once they are agreed.
- IIS-ISMC Library
The IIS-ISMC Library is the joint library of the Institute of Ismaili Studies and the Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations (Aga Khan University). It holds approximately 42,000 items related to the study of Muslim societies and cultures as well as Islamic Studies. The collection includes books, serials, sound recordings, films, as well as rare and out-of-print materials.
- Institute of Naval Medicine - Historic Collections Library
The Historic Collections Library of the Institute of Naval Medicine is one of the few collective resources for naval medical history, holding books that were the working collection of the naval surgeons and physicians at the Royal Naval Hospitals of Haslar (Gosport) and Stonehouse (Plymouth), with a few titles from other naval establishments. As well as medical coverage, there is material on all areas of natural history, but especially medical botany, and on ethnology and voyages of traval and exploration, including Polar exploration. The bulk of the collection was accumulated between 1828 and 1878, although the earliest book dates to 1564 and there are many 17th- and 18th-century medical texts; a bequest from one naval surgeon accounts for a scatter of early 19th-century European literature.
